Won Bin is growing his hair out. On MBN's talk show, host Kim Ju-ha revealed he's preparing for his next role after 16 years away from screens.

Won Bin is growing his hair out — and he has a reason for it. On the June 27 episode of MBN's Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night, host Kim Ju-ha revealed that she asked Won Bin directly about the long hair, and he told her: "I don't know what kind of role will come, so I'm preparing."
Veteran actor Park Geun-hyung appeared as a guest on episode 31 of the Saturday-night talk show alongside Kai. He and Won Bin go back to the KBS drama Kkokji, where Park first encountered the then-rookie. By Park's account, Won Bin showed up with long hair, read the script with imprecise pronunciation, and didn't improve much on a second attempt. Park told him to cut his hair first. When Park arrived on set later, Won Bin had done exactly that — hair cut, pronunciation sharp. Park's response: "You could do it, why didn't you?"
Won Bin's last screen credit is the 2010 film The Man from Nowhere. Sixteen years on, no next project has been announced. Park said he has sent messages through multiple people urging Won Bin to return — "actors like you should come out and do it" — and expressed frustration that it hasn't happened.
Kim Ju-ha added context Won Bin gave her personally: the image from The Man from Nowhere is so strong that suitable offers simply haven't come in since. Sixteen years of waiting on a role worthy of that film carries its own weight.
Park Geun-hyung is currently appearing in the stage production The Merchant of Venice. Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night airs every Saturday at 9:40 PM on MBN.
