MBC's 'The First Man' finally revealed it: Kang Baek-ho is actually Choi Ha-jun, the rightful heir to Dream Hotel.

MBC's daily drama The First Man (첫 번째 남자) dropped the show's central birth secret in its June 23 episode. Kang Baek-ho (Yoon Sun-woo) is actually Choi Ha-jun, the true heir to Dream Hotel.
Here's what happened. Kang Baek-ho's parents died in a traffic accident. Chairman Choi Myung-chul raised him as a cherished grandson. A fire started by the nanny's mistake killed the chairman, who died saving the boy. The nanny then abandoned the child at an orphanage and fled. False information that he had been adopted overseas meant no one could track him down.
Chairman Choi Myung-chul had terminal cancer at the time. He registered the Dream Hotel property, all assets, and stocks in Choi Ha-jun's name with instructions to return everything once he came of age. He never filed a death report for the boy, waiting until the end for his return. (The drama sat on this reveal for a while — the payoff is dense.)
Seo Hyun-ju and Ahn Jin-young wrote the series. Kang Tae-heum directed. The cast includes Oh Hyun-kyung as Chae Hwa-young, Lee Jae-hwang as Lee Gang-hyuk, Oh Yong-seok as Noh Chul-bong, Lee Ha-rang as Shin Ae-ran, Park Geon-il as Kang Jun-ho, Choi Ji-yeon as Han Young-ja, and Ham Eun-jung as Oh Jang-mi.
