Yu Seong-eun released her third mini album on June 18, co-writing and composing every track herself for the first time.

Yu Seong-eun is back — 11 years after her previous mini album — with The Meteor Is Glowing, released June 18. The title track is "Glowing" (글로잉).
On past records she only contributed lyrics. This time she co-wrote and composed every single track, a first for her. During the gap she attended a songwriting camp and studied topline composition. "I think that time was also a time that needed to exist," she said on MBC FM4U's Bae Cheol-su's Music Camp on the 24th.
She was direct about what changed: "In the past, even if I didn't like it, I would release it if the company told me to — this time I released it because I really liked it." During those 11 years she stopped expecting much from music rather than thinking about quitting. This album is different. She keeps checking the numbers, she admitted, and called it just the beginning.
Her goal going forward is simple. Sing, and nothing else. She said she hates the idea of circumstances forcing her into other work against her will. (She's currently teaching junior artists on the side, which presumably counts as music-adjacent enough.)
On influences, she named Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, and Whitney Houston — all discovered through films and documentaries. Her philosophy is blending different artists' styles until something new and personal emerges.
Appearing on Bae Cheol-su's Music Camp was itself a moment. She said other singers around her were envious when she announced the booking.
