Chae Jong-hyeop plays a mysterious seaside villa caretaker opposite Hashimoto Kanna in *Vacance no Housoku*. The drama premieres in Japan on July 27, hits Netflix globally on July 31.

Chae Jong-hyeop is heading back to Japanese television. The actor has been cast in Vacance no Housoku (바캉스의 법칙), an ABEMA original drama set to premiere in Japan on July 27, with a global Netflix release following on July 31.
He plays Nishigami, a shrouded-in-mystery caretaker who manages a seaside villa in Tatsumi town. Hashimoto Kanna takes the lead role of Hoshino Midori, a protagonist worn down by the grind of daily life who travels to the villa, falls for Nishigami, and slowly reclaims what the drama calls a "detox romance" summer.
This continues a run Chae Jong-hyeop has built in Japan. In 2024, he became the first Korean actor to lead a Japanese TBS 10 PM primetime drama series with Eye Love You. The show landed No. 1 on both the Netflix Japan TV show chart and the TVer integrated ranking immediately after release.
Two back-to-back Japanese drama leads in two years. Vacance no Housoku gives him a new platform in ABEMA, with the Netflix window on July 31 putting the show in front of a global audience four days after its Japan debut.
