Chungbuk students film K-pop & band performances in broadcast-level studio

The Chungbuk Office of Education's Educational Research and Information Institute held a two-day recording session on July 25 and 26 for its 2026 Studio On Air! K-pop & Band program. 123 elementary, middle, and high school students across 17 teams from North Chungcheong Province participated.

No rankings. No winners. The goal was a finished, broadcast-quality video. Students moved through stage rehearsal, sound check, and main recording in a professional studio with music-broadcast-level filming equipment, full sound systems, and lighting.

Makeup came from students in the beauty and cosmetics departments of Hallim Design High School and Chungbuk Business High School (two schools supporting one production).

Next: expert customized instruction runs July 27 through August 7. K-pop dance teams will focus on choreography and stage expression. Band teams will work on performance and musical completeness. Finished videos go through editing and audio correction before releasing in sequence on the center's official YouTube channel 충북미디어교육방송 and Instagram.

Director Lee Chan-dong said the project's value lies in students "preserving their prepared performances as high-quality video content" rather than competing for rankings. He added that the center plans to "continuously expand creative opportunities" for students going forward.
