Daisy Ridley's thriller 'Magpie' hits Korean screens — 83% on Rotten Tomatoes

Daisy Ridley's suspense thriller Magpie — released in Korea under the title 함정 — is heading to Korean audiences, distributed jointly by Lumix Media and Nine Planners.

The film dropped on North American OTT in April 2024 with an R rating in theaters and remains on Hulu in the US. Korea gets a 15+ rating. Its Rotten Tomatoes score: 83%.

Ridley plays Annette, a housewife drowning in solo childcare. Shahzad Latif is her husband Ben. Matilda Lutz plays Alicia, a famous actress who upends everything. The 90-minute film weaves suspense with romantic tension.

Ridley produced alongside her lead role. Her husband, actor Tom Baitley, wrote the screenplay. An 83% on RT from a husband-wife creative team isn't typical.

Lumix Media and Nine Planners handle both import and distribution for Korea.
