Glenn Hansard, star of 'Once' and The Frames vocalist, dies at 56 in Dublin motorcycle accident

Glenn Hansard, the Irish musician and actor best known for starring in Once and fronting The Frames, died on July 28, 2026 following a motorcycle accident in Dublin. He was 56.

He led The Frames for decades while building a parallel acting career. Once became the role audiences knew him for.

In August 2009, Hansard performed at the funeral of Eunice Kennedy Shriver in Massachusetts. She was the sister of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy.
