Melon's first-half 2026 recap crowns IVE and AKMU as co-chart leaders, names LE SSERAFIM its standout artist, and flags house music as the defining genre trend.

IVE and AKMU each spent 6 weeks at #1 on Melon's weekly chart in the first half of 2026, sharing the top spot in the platform's mid-year recap.
IVE got there on a single track: BANG BANG, a double title cut from their regular 2nd album. AKMU spread their 6 weeks across two songs from their regular 4th album 개화 — 기쁨, 슬픔, 아름다운 마음 and 소문의 낙원.
Boy group representation was thin. CORTIS was the only male act to hit #1 in the period, doing it for 2 weeks with REDRED, the title track off their mini 2nd album GREENGREEN. The current weekly #1 belongs to IOI — back after 10 years — with 갑자기.
Melon's DataLab named LE SSERAFIM its representative artist of the first half. LOVE ATTACK, the title track from their mini 1st album released in August 2024, reverse-charted twice over two years and sat at #5 on the Melon Top 100 as of June 30. It then hit #1 on the Top 100 for the first time on July 8 at 10 PM. Compared to February — when the YouTube channel behind the 거제 야호 meme launched — streaming of the track climbed 2,019% and listener counts rose 977% by the end of June.
House music dominated the genre landscape in H1 2026. Rookie girl groups KIKI and HATSUHEART (하츠투하츠) led the charge. KIKI's 404 (New Era) reached #1 on the Top 100 just 16 days after release. HATSUHEART's RUDE! peaked at #2.
