Jang Hyeri drops emotional ballad 'Oneureun Mamkkeot Seolleego Sipda'

Jang Hyeri dropped 오늘은 맘껏 설레고 싶다 (Oneureun Mamkkeot Seolleego Sipda) on July 30 at noon across online music platforms.

The track is a ballad built around the overwhelming, sweet excitement of the moment someone realizes they're in love. The lyrics put it plainly: "왜 널 몰라봤을까 / 이 좋은 사랑을 몰랐을까" — why did I not see you sooner, why did I not know this love. Composer Go Byeong-sik (고병식) produced the single, with previous credits on albums and OSTs for god's Kim Tae-woo, Yang Ji-eun, Ali, Sohyang, Jo Hang-jo, Kim Da-hyeon, and Hwang Ga-ram.

It's a sharp genre shift. Jang Hyeri has been active with the dance trot track 안아주세요 (Anajuseyo). This ballad sits on the opposite end of that spectrum. (She also plays bass, which is not something most trot artists have on their résumé.)
