KATSEYE's Daniela headlines Hinterland Festival as group preps EP3 'WILD' and single 'Animal'

KATSEYE took the stage at Hinterland Festival for their first headline festival set. Daniela posted about it afterward: "our first headline festival set ever what a dream thank you eyekons for your endless love and thank you hinterlandiowa for having us."

Daniela Andrea Avanzi Ylorente, 21, is the group's main dancer and lead vocalist. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up as a Third Culture Kid—Spanish-speaking, Cuban food at home, with family ties across the United States, Cuba, and Venezuela. Before KATSEYE, she placed 10th on the children's season of So You Think You Can Dance? (Season 13) and finished 2nd at the Super Kids Europe international competition. She made KATSEYE by finishing 5th in HYBE UMG's global audition program The Debut: Dream Academy.

KATSEYE consists of Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yunche. The six-member global girl group is produced by HYBE UMG and UMG. They pre-released Debut in June 2024 and Touch in July 2024 before officially debuting on August 16, 2024 with EP1 SIS (Soft Is Strong). EP2 BEAUTIFUL CHAOS came on June 27, 2025, after pre-release single Gnarly earlier that year. In 2026 the group won three categories including Best New Artist at a major American music awards ceremony and earned two Grammy nominations.

The Hinterland set happens during a packed stretch. New single Animal had its MV teaser drop on July 21 and releases globally on July 24. EP3 WILD is scheduled for August 14. THE WILDWORLD Tour covering North America and Europe is also in the works.
