Kim Gyu-jong teases 'Simply Beautiful' solo single with performance preview

Kim Gyu-jong, 38, is releasing a new solo single titled Simply Beautiful (심플리 뷰티풀). A performance preview photo posted on July 1 showed him at a microphone stand.

His discography spans multiple group configurations. In SS501, the five-member act, he worked as a sub-vocalist, sub-rapper, and lead dancer alongside Kim Hyun-joong, Heo Young-saeng, Park Jung-min, and Kim Hyung-joon. The group released 경고, Snow Prince, Fighter, Unlock, 4Chance, 겁쟁이, U R Man, 내 머리가 나빠서, Love Like This, and Love Ya. He also recorded with Double S 301, a three-member unit featuring Heo Young-saeng and Kim Hyung-joon.

His solo career includes the mini-albums TURN ME ON and Meet Me Again. The Play in Nature single series came in three parts: SPRING, FOREST, and SNOW FLAKE, followed by a full-length Play in Nature album. Recent solo tracks are 가을밤, 365+30, 그리움 스케치, 니 목소리가 듣고 싶어, Call My Name, 색연필, 이별도 사랑일까, and 여름밤의 고백.

Simply Beautiful drops during a packed period. Kim Gyu-jong remains active in FIVE O ONE, a unit with SS501 members Kim Hyun-joong and Heo Young-saeng. The group completed a 20th-anniversary world tour hitting Seoul, Tokyo, and Osaka. A new album titled Set It Off (셋 잇 오프) is in the works. He also appeared as a guest detective on the variety show 탐정들의 영업비밀 (Detectives' Trade Secrets).
