Kim Ho-young posts New York in-flight vlog as Ok Ju-hyun renews demand for explanation

Musical actor Kim Ho-young posted a YouTube video on July 24, 2026 titled "일단 뉴욕 출발했는데 기내에서만 20분 토크 삼매경" — a 20-minute chat recorded from his business class seat en route to New York. He applied sponsored cosmetics on camera. "It's very refreshing. Not too thin and not too heavy," he said of the product.

The timing was notable. Fellow musical actor Ok Ju-hyun had just publicly demanded an explanation from Kim Ho-young for the first time in four years over the so-called 'Ok jangpan' controversy. Kim has said nothing in response.

The dispute started in 2022, when Kim posted on SNS: "Asari-pan is old news. Now it's Ok jangpan." The phrase read as a jab at Ok Ju-hyun and sparked allegations of favoritism in casting at Elisabeth. EMK Musical Company denied the claims. Ok Ju-hyun filed a defamation complaint. First-generation musical actors Park Kallin, Choi Jung-won, and Nam Kyung-joo issued a statement: "Actors should focus on their inherent work of acting and should not infringe on the production company's exclusive authority such as casting."

Kim's defense: the post had nothing to do with Ok Ju-hyun. He said he wrote it to promote his father's flooring business. ("Jangpan" means vinyl flooring in Korean — the crux of his argument.) The two sides settled their legal dispute and Ok Ju-hyun withdrew her complaint.

Now Ok Ju-hyun has gone public again. Kim's response is a 20-minute cabin chat about moisturizer.
