Kim Min-ha opens Blue Dragon Series Awards with jazz performance, named solo MC for Busan Film Festival

Kim Min-ha opened the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards on July 31 at Paradise City in Incheon with a jazz standard. She performed That's Life in a silver-gray dress, drawing a comment from host Jeon Hyun-moo that the room felt like a jazz bar. "The discovery of musician Kim Min-ha," he called it.

Hyun Bin, Kim Sun-ho, Byeon Woo-seok, and Park Ji-hyun were in the crowd. Jeon Hyun-moo and Yoona co-hosted the ceremony. Lim Si-wan had opened last year's 4th edition.

Days before the performance, Kim Min-ha told an interviewer she'd lost 17 kg over two years. "I ate about one meal a day and exercised really hard," she said. She lost the weight without excessive stress. "90% of it was because of my work. I love both my previous appearance and my current appearance." Her next projects require significant weight loss too, though she wouldn't say which ones.

Separately, she's been tapped as the sole MC for the 31st Busan International Film Festival opening ceremony, set for October 6–15 at the Busan Cinema Center and surrounding areas.

She debuted in 2016 and played young Sun-ja in Apple TV+'s Pachinko. Recent work includes the dramas Lighting Shop (조명가게), One Week Before I Die (내가 죽기 일주일 전), and Typhoon Boss (태풍상사), plus the film Hana Korea. She won the 2022 Asian American Awards TV Newcomer Award, the 2025 Seoul Drama Awards Best Actress in International Competition, the 2025 Blue Dragon Series Awards Newcomer Actress Award, and the 2026 Korea First Brand Awards Rising Star Actress Award.
