Kino's 'FREE KINO' world tour hits Tokyo ahead of PENTAGON 10th anniversary comeback
PENTAGON's Kino was spotted dining in Tokyo on July 27, mid-way through his solo world tour 'FREE KINO', as PENTAGON preps a 7-member 10th anniversary project.
Kino (강형구, 27) posted a photo from a Tokyo restaurant on July 27, seated with an acquaintance. The stop falls within his ongoing solo world tour FREE KINO, run through his own label NAKED.
The tour launched with a Seoul show on January 24 and has since taken him across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Tokyo was among the cities on the itinerary.
Weeks earlier, on July 21, PENTAGON announced a 10th anniversary project. The group debuted October 10, 2016 with mini album PENTAGON. They revealed plans for a new song release and a tour as part of the milestone. The anniversary run will proceed as a 7-member unit: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Kino, and Wooseok. (The full nine-member lineup includes Yanan and Yuto, who are not part of the anniversary project.)
Kino serves as sub-vocalist and main dancer in PENTAGON. He handled choreography sourcing and detail work on the group's mini 10th album WE:TH title track Daisy. His solo work began with a 2022 special single POSE. In 2024 he released mini album If this is love, I want a refund and single Dancing On The Road.
He won first place on Kakao TV original Hidden: The Performance with medium dance track Up&Down, made with rapper Pickboy. On SoundCloud he drops original productions under the name Knnovation.
PENTAGON's last digital single before the anniversary project was 약속, released in 2023.
