Lee Teuk performs first solo track 'Bad Name' as Super Junior-83z opens '1983' tour in Seoul

Super Junior-83z — the unit of Lee Teuk and Kim Hee-chul — opened their first fan concert tour 1983 at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul on July 24, running through July 26.

All three nights sold out. They'd planned two shows; a third date went up for sale and sold out as well. Beyond Live and Weverse streamed the concerts globally.

Lee Teuk (real name Park Jung-soo, 42, born July 1, 1983) debuted his first solo track, Bad Name, during the Seoul run. The R&B pop song sits on a bass line and brass sound that he co-wrote. He posted stage photos on the 28th with the caption "내 첫솔로곡 bad name," underscoring what the track meant to him. Kim Hee-chul performed his own solo cut, 고독남, on the same stage.

The setlist worked through their mini album 너를 위한 약속 (Promise), released July 13. 너를 위한 약속 opened the show. 우리의 우정은 사랑보다 강하다 came with a "necklace performance" symbolizing eternity and the spoken line "평생 83z 하기로 약속해." RUDE! got a live rock arrangement. A Super Junior medley pulled 로구꺼!!!, Super Duper, 떴다 오빠, 미인아, Mr. Simple, Sexy, Free & Single, and 쏘리 쏘리 from the group's catalog. The encore closed with 나비잠, 진심, Sarang♥, and Miracle.

At the end of the run, the duo spoke to the crowd: "The tour is just starting and we don't know the plans after, but let's keep doing this together. Always grateful and love you."

They also reflected on the preparation: "It feels strange — a two-shot we couldn't have imagined 10 years ago. We kept asking ourselves 'can we do this?' during rehearsals, so it's good we got through it safely. It was our first time working just the two of us, which was difficult, but having only each other to lean on made us more focused, and that in itself means a lot."

From Seoul, 1983 moves through eight more Asian cities: Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Gaohsiung, Singapore, and Taipei.
