Moon Geun-young announces marriage to theater actor Jung Pyeong

Moon Geun-young announced her marriage to Jung Pyeong on July 29 via SNS. He's 46, seven years her senior, a musical and theater actor who debuted in 2007. His credits include the musicals Radio Star, Aida, and Ppallae, plus the play Eden Beauty Salon. The two worked together at Bachi, the creative collective Moon directed.

They skipped the ceremony entirely. Instead, family gathered for a meal. Moon, who debuted in 1999 with Gil Wie-eseo and played young Song Hye-kyo in Autumn in My Heart, wrote about finding someone to share the path she'd walked alone. "Please give me congratulations and encouragement rather than concerns and worries," she said. "I will live harder than the support you give me."

Moon won the Grand Prize at the 2008 SBS Drama Awards for Painter of the Wind. A diagnosis of acute compartment syndrome in 2017 sidelined her for years. She returned through the 2021 KBS short drama The Cove of Memory, a special appearance in Netflix's Hellbound Season 2 in 2024, and the stage play Orphans in March 2026. Director Yeon Sang-ho's film Yeto is her next project, releasing next year.
