The 18-year-old trot singer appeared on KBS 2TV's '살림남' on July 18, confessing she lost sleep over excitement at meeting Eun Ji-won.
Trot singer Oh Yu-jin joined KBS 2TV's 살림남 as a special guest on July 18. Born in 2009, the 18-year-old is a devoted fan of Eun Ji-won. "I couldn't sleep today and was so excited," she admitted on air.
Her mother is 43, which made the age gap between guest and cast members impossible to ignore. Oh Yu-jin didn't hold back sizing up the hosts. Eun Ji-won "looks like an older brother just from the face," she said. Park Seo-jin "feels more like an uncle."
The episode centered on Park Seo-jin and his sister Hyo-jung competing in 국중박 분장놀이 (National Museum of Korea Makeup Play), now in its third year, with 3 million won in prize money on the line. The National Museum of Korea drew over 6 million visitors for two consecutive years and ranked third globally and first in Asia for museum attendance last year.
Park Seo-jin recreated the Joseon-era folk painting 호작도 (Tiger and Magpie) by transforming Hyo-jung into a tiger. He then used gold fabric and chocolate snacks to turn her into a golden Buddha for a recreation of the gilt-bronze 금동연가칠년명여래입상. Their final entry was Kim Hong-do's 씨름 (Wrestling).
Hyo-jung took a shot at the Australopithecus exhibit, calling it "brother before plastic surgery." Park Seo-jin's response: "No refutation possible. It is somewhat similar."
On his motivation, Park Seo-jin said: "I wanted many people to enjoy artifacts not as something difficult but as a festival." His interest in history only developed after he began learning the meaning behind folk paintings.
살림남 airs every Saturday at 10:35 PM on KBS 2TV.
