Sandeul on Radio Star: wooden swords, a director's "get out," and 15 years as an idol

B1A4's Sandeul sat down on MBC Radio Star on July 1 at 10:30 PM for the "National Representative Sons" special. Alongside him: actors Ryu Soo-young, Choi Jin-hyuk, and Yoon Si-yoon. All four are currently in the musical 그날들 at D Cube Link Art Center in Guro-gu, Seoul.

Sandeul claimed that Ryu Soo-young and Choi Jin-hyuk hit him with wooden swords during sword-action filming. Choi Jin-hyuk immediately pushed back, demonstrating sword techniques on the spot to clear his name.

In the 그날들 rehearsal room, Sandeul joined the youngest-member line—a 15-year idol playing the maknae. Ryu Soo-young brought sweet potatoes and eggs for him at rehearsals.

The deeper moment came when Sandeul recalled director Jang Yu-jung telling him to "leave" during his very first musical rehearsal. Fourteen years later, the two reunited through 그날들. He finally received her recognition.

Sandeul also looked back at appearing on Star King with DAY6's Sungjin as a Busan singing prodigy. He recalled wearing glasses with a -12 diopter prescription and the time he drank makgeolli cappuccino on a broadcast and unexpectedly got drowsy.

Before 그날들, Sandeul played the lead role L in the musical Death Note through May. B1A4 debuted in 2011.
