Silica Gel return with their third album 'Ballad of You' on August 20, their first full-length in three years, followed by an Asia tour.
Silica Gel are coming back. The band announced Ballad of You (발라드 오브 유), their third full-length album, dropping August 20 — their first regular album in approximately three years.
The announcement went up July 23 on the group's official social media, alongside the album cover image. That cover shares a visual thread with the pre-release single Molecular Gastronomy (몰레큘러 가스트로노미), which came out June 30. BIG VOID (빅 보이드) was also released ahead of the album. Both singles expand on the band's existing sound.
The album campaign runs straight into a major live run. On September 26 and 27, Silica Gel will play Seoul Olympic Park KSPO DOME for "Silica Gel Asia Tour 'Syn.THE.Size: Ballad of You' in Seoul" — described as the largest solo concert of their career. After Seoul, the tour continues through Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. This marks the band's first Asia tour.
