Song Joong-ki and Park Ji-hyun reunite in KBS fantasy romance 'Love Cloud', set for 2027

Song Joong-ki and Park Ji-hyun are headlining Love Cloud, a new Saturday miniseries on KBS 2TV scheduled to premiere in 2027. Their last project together was Reborn Rich, roughly four years ago.

The drama centers on two aviation professionals with a supernatural twist. Song Joong-ki plays Kang Woo-joo, a former flight instructor turned ace air traffic controller who can see the emotional states of ex-lovers manifested as weather. Once nicknamed "Mad Captain," he quit flying and settled in Jeju Island with no personal ties there. His hobby is lying down and watching clouds. Park Ji-hyun plays pilot An Ha-nui, a relentless workaholic who has pushed through every unpleasant task in pursuit of promotion. A sudden accident leaves her cursed—her emotions literally changing the weather around her.

Director Song Min-yeop, whose previous credits include Youth of May and High Cookie, is attached alongside writing team Team Mad Rabbit.

Song Joong-ki said he "was attracted to the unique setting where the counterpart's emotions are connected to clouds" and called the reunion with Park Ji-hyun meaningful. He had long admired director Song Min-yeop and was eager to work with him. Park Ji-hyun said she "could not let go of tension while reading the script" due to its high immersion. She wants to grow alongside the character An Ha-nui while giving viewers "pleasant excitement."

Love Cloud airs on KBS 2TV in 2027.
