Song Joong-ki was greeting fans on an overseas street when a Chinese-speaking fan introduced him to another fan as "the person who was married to Song Hye-kyo." The comment wasn't aimed at him—just context for someone else. His face changed anyway. On camera.
Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo met on Descendants of the Sun in 2016. They married in October 2017 and divorced in 2019. (Seven years later, one drama remains the shorthand for who he is.)
Life since the split
Song Joong-ki remarried in January 2023 to British actress Katie Louise Saunders. A son arrived in June 2023. A daughter in November 2024.
