Tang Wei, 47, announced the birth of her second child—a son—on July 22 via social media, 10 years after her first daughter Summer was born.

Tang Wei announced on July 22 that she and director Kim Tae-yong have welcomed a second child, a son. The actress shared a family photo on social media with the news, writing that "Summer started a four-person family trip with the young horse." Summer is their first daughter. "Young horse" (망아지) is the nickname for the newborn. Both mother and child are healthy.
The birth comes 10 years after Summer arrived in Hong Kong in August 2016, and 12 years into Tang Wei and Kim Tae-yong's marriage. Tang Wei's father, a painter, created a drawing titled Mangaji (Young Horse) to mark the occasion.
The pregnancy surfaced publicly in late April when Tang Wei was spotted at a luxury brand event in Shanghai with a visible baby bump. She confirmed it on April 29 by posting the painting and writing: "It's like a great blessing, an unexpected gift." In June, she and Kim Tae-yong headed to Hong Kong ahead of the birth—the same city where Summer was born.
Tang Wei and Kim Tae-yong met through the film Late Autumn (만추), with production taking place in either 2010 or 2011. They reunited in 2013 before marrying in July 2014. Kim Tae-yong is 57.
Tang Wei has also confirmed her casting in director Park Chan-wook's Hollywood project The Brigands of Rattlecreek.
