WOODZ (Cho Seung-youn) joins blockbuster film 'Nambeol' alongside Lee Byung-hun, Ko Yun-jung, and Lee Do-hyun

Cho Seung-youn — known to fans as WOODZ — is now part of Nambeol, a hard-boiled martial arts action film set in early Joseon. The cast includes Lee Byung-hun, Ko Yun-jung, and Lee Do-hyun.

He plays '첫놈', a master archer who joins a perilous Tsushima expedition to support the family he left behind in his hometown. Nine warriors of varying abilities and social rank are sent to rescue prisoners kidnapped by Japanese pirates.

Nambeol marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Lee Mo-gae. His work as DP spans Seoul Spring, Exhuma, Hunt, Yatang, and Emergency Declaration. He won the Art Award in the Film Division at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Cinematography Award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for Seoul Spring. Hive Media Corp handles production — the company behind Seoul Spring, Harbin, The Man Standing Next, Insiders, and the Disney+ series Made in Korea.

This is Cho Seung-youn's first feature film role. He previously appeared in the mystery short Slide Strum Mute, playing 'Woo-jin', a musician who fails an audition, then plays a broken guitar left by a mysterious stranger and races through cursed time driven by desire.

Nambeol is in pre-production. Principal photography is targeted for the second half of 2026.
