Jo Jun-young joins 'Nambul' cast alongside Lee Byung-hun, Go Yoon-jung, Lee Do-hyun

Jo Jun-young is joining Nambul, a hard-boiled martial arts action film set in early Joseon, directed by Lee Mo-gae. He plays Changrak, the youngest member of a nine-warrior suppression squad sent to Tsushima to rescue prisoners taken by Japanese pirates.

Changrak looks innocent but acts unpredictably, creating sudden tension on screen. In combat, he wields a spear and iron mace to break through enemy lines first. Jo built his career through the dramas Spirit Fingers, Bunny and Her Brothers, and Spring Fever.

The cast also includes Lee Byung-hun, Go Yoon-jung, Lee Do-hyun, Park Hae-joon, Lee Kwang-soo, Lee Sang-i, Park Yu-rim, and singer Woo-z (Jo Seung-yeon).

Lee Mo-gae is making his directorial debut after years as cinematographer on Spring in Seoul, Exhumation, Hunt, Opposition Party, and Emergency Declaration. He won cinematography awards at both the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Hive Media Corp is producing—the company also made Spring in Seoul and Insiders. Nambul is currently in pre-production with a target to begin principal photography in the second half of this year.
