CORTIS turned one on Aug. 18 and made history: first 2020s-debuting K-pop boy group at the MTV VMAs, with 'GREENGREEN' setting a chart longevity record.

CORTIS hit their one-year mark on August 18. Two MTV Video Music Awards nominations followed: Best New Artist and Best K-pop.
No K-pop boy group that debuted in the 2020s had ever landed a VMA nomination before. In Best New Artist, they're up against Malcolm Todd, Myles Smith, and Stella Lefty. Best K-pop pits their mini-album 2 title track REDRED against BTS's SWIM and five others—label seniors on the same shortlist in the same ceremony.
The chart numbers underneath tell their own story. GREENGREEN hit #110 on the Billboard 200 for a 14th consecutive week, per the August 22 chart. That's the longest single-album run by a K-pop boy group that debuted in the past five years. The track also sits at #2 on World Albums and #6 on Top Album Sales. REDRED lands at #136 on Global 200 and #66 on Global (excl. US). CORTIS themselves rank #74 on Artist 100—they entered at #5 on May 23 and have held for all 14 weeks since.
Their debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, released September 8, 2025, is still in motion. It sits at #7 on World Albums and #50 on Top Album Sales in the same cycle. As of August 16, the album had crossed 700 million cumulative Spotify streams, adding roughly 1.8 million per day.
The anniversary continues live. CORTIS holds the 2026 CORTIS TOUR -PUT YOUR PHONE DOWN- BIRTHDAY PARTY at Korea University Hwajung Gymnasium in Seoul on August 22 and 23.
