G-Dragon says he played matchmaker for Sandara Park's mystery idol romance

G-Dragon admitted on August 19 that he played matchmaker for a past romance involving fellow YG artist Sandara Park — and that he personally knows the male idol involved.

Appearing on YouTube channel 집대성 alongside BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung, G-Dragon confirmed he was the one who witnessed a male idol visiting near Worldmerdian. When Daesung asked whether G-Dragon had been the witness, he replied simply: "It's me."

He went further. "I didn't see it myself but I knew the situation. I also know the male personally. Did I introduce them?" When Daesung pressed him on whether he had played matchmaker, G-Dragon said: "I play matchmaker a lot."

Asked whether the male idol in question is still active, G-Dragon put his index finger to his lips — declining to name names.

He addressed Sandara Park directly, saying she "misunderstands because I'm talking about her story" and thinks he is spreading rumors. He added that "even the members don't know in detail." Awkward, given that Taeyang and Daesung were sitting right there.

Taeyang offered perspective on his bandmate's style: "Jiyong doesn't say things that don't exist. Things that exist get greatly exaggerated."

Sandara Park has not publicly responded.
