IOI's reunion title track 갑자기 was the most-played song in vehicles on Genie Music during June and July 2026, according to data released August 16.
The group reunited in May for their 10th debut anniversary—nine years after their original run—and dropped their third mini-album I.O.I : LOOP on May 19. 갑자기 had already claimed a music broadcast No. 1 before topping the summer in-car chart. ILLIT's It's Me ranked second, followed by AKMU's 소문의 낙원, Choi Ye-na's 캐치캐치, and CORTIS's REDRED rounding out the top five.
Vehicle streaming on Genie Music rose 20% in June–July compared to the same period last year. The figure climbed to 12% above the January–May monthly average for 2026. Zoom out further: January–June vehicle streaming was up 30% year-over-year.
Listeners in their 40s drove the most consumption at 35%. The 30s bracket hit 28%, the 50s at 16%. Combined, the 30–50 demographic accounted for 79% of total in-car listening. Men made up 58% of vehicle streaming versus 42% for women. Weekend listening (58%) outpaced weekdays (42%).
KT Genie Music head Hong Se-hee credited service improvements for the growth: "Enhancing the service to provide high-quality sound in vehicles had a positive impact on increased music consumption in vehicles." KT Genie Music holds technical partnerships with domestic and international automakers and supplies the Genie service optimized for in-car environments through Bluetooth, USB, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Three months into a nine-year comeback, IOI topped a streaming category.
