Ryu Jun-yeol's Netflix thriller *Deulswi* hit #2 in Korea and #8 globally within three days of its March 28 release.
Deulswi climbed to #8 on Netflix's global TV shows chart by March 30, just three days after dropping worldwide on March 28. A day earlier, it had already claimed #2 on the Netflix Korea series chart.
The 10-episode mystery thriller marks Ryu Jun-yeol's first dual role. He plays Moon Jae, a reclusive novelist drowning in social anxiety, and Deulswi, a doppelgänger who steals Moon Jae's identity and fortune. Framed as a fugitive, Moon Jae teams up with No Ja, a loan shark who's been hunting him for a decade.
Seol Kyung-gu takes on No Ja, whose obsession with recovering lost money drags him deeper into Moon Jae's bizarre spiral. Lee Gyu-hyung plays detective Sun-yong and lost approximately 10 kg to embody the role.
The series adapts a webtoon by Ludovico, reimagining the Korean folk tale The Mouse That Ate Fingernails as a modern tracking thriller. Director Kim Hong-seon previously worked on Netflix's Twinkling and Paper House: Joint Economic Zone, plus the drama Voice. Writer Lee Jae-gon has credits on Netflix's Model Family and Special Crime Task Force TEN.
Galaxy Corporation said Ryu is "continuously challenging new characters and genres, broadening his connection with global viewers" and confirmed plans to support his global activities moving forward.
