TWS to debut Korean-language 'SODA SODA' stage on M Countdown after Japan Hot 100 #1

TWS will perform the Korean version of SODA SODA on Mnet M Countdown on September 3. It's the first public outing for this rendition.

The city pop track anchors the group's Japanese single 2nd album, which dropped in Japan earlier this month. Gyeongmin, Youngjae, and Jihoon all had a hand in composing it. A performance film went live August 27 on their official YouTube channel.

SODA SODA topped Billboard Japan's "Japan Hot 100" chart this year—the first K-pop song to do so. The single placed 2nd on the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking, dominated Japan iTunes and Apple Music's Top Songs Dance category, hit #1 on AWA's real-time rising chart, and broke the group's record for first-week sales. Back in Korea, it landed on Melon's Hot 100, charted high on YouTube trending music, and its music video hit 3rd on Korean YouTube's Daily Popular Music Videos chart.

"It is very meaningful to be able to show the Korean version stage of SODA SODA that many 42 fans have loved," TWS said. "As it is a surprise gift prepared for 42, we hope you will enjoy it together."

The M Countdown slot comes during their Japan tour. 2026 TWS TOUR '24/7:FOR:YOU' IN JAPAN hits Fukuoka August 28–30, Hyogo September 4–6, and Kanagawa September 12–13. On August 25, they also dropped the "Interchange Roommate" episode of TWS:CLUB, their variety show. Shinyu & Youngjae, Dohoon & Jihoon, and Hanjin & Gyeongmin swapped roommates to find new pairings.
