Kim Do-i, 19, beats 1,000 candidates for lead role in *Vampir*. Director Jang Jae-hyun's full cast locked; filming starts August, 2028 release planned.

Kim Do-i landed the role opposite Yoo Ah-in in Vampir, winning out over roughly 1,000 other candidates.
The 19-year-old is a member of Hype Princess, a seven-piece hip-hop girl group formed through Mnet's Unpretty Rapstar: Hip Hop Princess last year. Director Jang Jae-hyun has now finalized the cast: Yoo Ah-in, Lee Sung-min, Lee Jun-hyuk, Do-i, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Choi Hyun-wook. Full-scale filming begins in August, with a 2028 theatrical release scheduled.
For Do-i, born in 2008, this is an early career breakthrough. The competition was steep.
Yoo Ah-in returns to screens after a narcotics case that sidelined him from the industry. Between September 2020 and March 2022, he habitually administered four types of medical narcotics—propofol, midazolam, ketamine, and remifentanil—181 times under the guise of anesthesia for cosmetic procedures. He also illegally purchased approximately 1,100 sleeping pills under other people's names between 2021 and 2023. A first-instance court sentenced him to one year in prison and a 2 million won fine in September last year. On appeal, the sentence was reduced to one year imprisonment with a two-year suspended sentence.
