4th-gen K-pop acts go mainstream: Cortis hits Billboard 200 top 3, Kiki and All Day Project chart globally

Cortis: Billboard 200 top 3 before the one-year mark

Cortis reached number 3 on the Billboard 200 less than a year after debut. The title track Red Red built momentum at home and abroad. Every show on their first world tour's North American leg sold out.

What makes them different: the "Young Creator Crew" model. Members write their own songs and choreograph their own dances instead of relying on outside teams.

Kiki and All Day Project join the chart conversation

Kiki's 404 taps into Y2K nostalgia and made Billboard's best K-pop songs of the year list. All Day Project, a co-ed group, charted from day one—uncommon for a debut act. They sidestepped the usual success playbook and caught attention both domestically and internationally.

NCT's unit model and what Taeyong said

NCT operates with unlimited member slots and runs multiple units at once, using overseas-specific lineups as its core strategy. On the 24th, NCT127's Taeyong spoke to the group's identity:

"Although we are based in Seoul, we do not want to be confined to one place and want to show our own color." — Taeyong, NCT127

The unit model is becoming the template other 4th-gen groups follow, whether they admit it or not.
