BESTie's 2013 single 'Love Options' charts on YouTube Shorts, Shazam Korea and Vietnam — 8 years after group halted activities

A 2013 single resurfaces across multiple charts

연애의 조건 (Love Options), a digital single BESTie released in 2013, hit No. 2 on YouTube Korea's daily Shorts popular songs chart as of September 20 and No. 11 on the weekly Shorts chart. The track also placed 23rd on YouTube's weekly TOP100 chart — all without any new release or promotional push from the group.

On Shazam, the song topped both the Korea and Vietnam charts. It also ranked in Shazam's top positions in Japan, Thailand, China, and Singapore. As of 9 PM on September 22, it reached No. 101 on Genie Music and entered Apple Music Korea's TOP100.

BESTie's agency blamed music challenges spreading across YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels for pulling in Gen Z listeners. TWICE member Nayeon posted a challenge video to the song, which gave it significant visibility. Member Dahye shared Nayeon's clip with the caption "캡처해서 배경 화면 하기" (screenshot it for my wallpaper), and Hyeyeon posted a Genie chart screenshot with just "100위 진입" — 100th place entry.

The group that's been apart since 2017

BESTie debuted in 2013 with 두근두근, followed by THANK U VERY MUCH, Hot Baby, and Excuse Me. The group consisted of Hyeyeon, Yuji, Dahye, and Haeryeong. In 2017, members Yuji and Dahye terminated their exclusive contracts and group activities stopped. Eight years of silence, then a 13-year-old song starts trending.

The four members scattered. Hyeyeon switched to trot and performs as a solo artist. Yuji works as a musical actor. Dahye is a singer and influencer. Haeryeong is an actress. None of the chart activity is tied to a reunion or new release — it is the original 2013 recording.
