Entertech Seoul 2026 closes with 44,000 visitors and $240M in contract deals

44,000 visitors, 981 companies, four days

Entertech Seoul and Game·E-Sports Seoul 2026 wrapped September 20 after a four-day run at Dongdaemun Design Plaza and JW Marriott Dongdaemun. Approximately 44,000 visitors came through. The 981 participating companies spanned 30 countries—content studios, tech firms, investors, buyers.

The SPP International Content Market logged between 1,334 and 1,344 business and investment consultations through one-on-one meetings, showcases, and customized investment sessions. Contract promotion totals hit 330 billion won, or $240 million USD.

AI demos, idol VR, and sim racing on the show floor

CJ ENM Vice President Kim Jung-han took the keynote stage to discuss "Next-K created by AI content ecosystem and K-OTT." GIST professor An Changwook followed with a live demonstration of AI music and video production.

Visitors could pick keywords at an AI piano composition station and watch an automated piano perform the generated melody live. A VR booth transported attendees inside stages by aespa and FIFTY FIFTY. The "AI Idol Debut Experience" walked visitors through profile photography and debut song production. Hyundai Motor ran a sim racing booth with racing seat, steering wheel, and pedals. Blizzard, Sega, and Comtus hosted game demos and experience events.

22-year-old university student Lee Hyun-joo tried the AI composition booth: "It was amazing that words I chose became a song even though I've never learned composition."

Gaming competitions and e-sports finals

The Seoul Play-Up AI Game Challenge ran September 18 at 10:00 AM. 353 teams entered. 8 were selected as outstanding works. Winners used NC AI's generative AI technology to turn Seoul landmarks and city imagery into playable games. The 2026 Seoul Cup finals and Krafton PUBG PWS Phase 2 both took place during the event window.

SBA acting representative director Park Bo-gyeong closed with a statement: "It was a venue that proved the infinite possibilities of the creative industry ecosystem," adding that the agency would support follow-up investment and market expansion for Seoul's content globally.
