hrtz.wav drops band performance of 'ALIVE' on 1theK's '야외녹음실' five months after debut

Five months in, all six tracks charting

hrtz.wav appeared on 1theK's 야외녹음실 on September 10, performing ALIVE (Feat. 성찬 of RIIZE), the title track from their second mini album The Second Wave : MOMENTUM. The album dropped September 9 — five months after the group's debut.

The five-member band was formed through Mnet's global band-making survival show Still Heart Club. Kakao Entertainment confirmed on September 10 that the September 9 fan showcase at S.Factory in Seongdong-gu, Seoul wrapped successfully.

On Melon's HOT 100 (30-day basis), ALIVE entered at No. 31 as of 7 PM on release day. All six tracks on the album charted. The ALIVE music video crossed 1 million views after release.

Members took on the rap themselves

Vocal member Rian opened the 야외녹음실 performance with narration: "You, when do you feel alive?" Keyboard player Yoon Young-jun handled the rap part originally featuring RIIZE's Seongchan. Guitarist Kaiten had already shown off rap skills at the September 9 comeback showcase.

1theK PD Ahn Hyun-jin said: "I wanted to naturally capture the groovy rhythm of 'ALIVE' and hrtz.wav's distinctive and free band sound." He focused on directing so the members' energy and the forest backdrop could create synergy.

The album tracklist includes opening track Mind, Play My Guitar, and the title track ALIVE — six songs total. hrtz.wav told fans at the showcase: "Thanks to the cheers and support of Hatzons, we seem to be gaining energy instead. Let's continue to make good memories together."
