Hwang Young-woong's fan club draws 2,000 to Suwon as new single hits 3M YouTube views

Hwang Young-woong's official fan club Paradise brought roughly 2,000 people to Suwon Gymnasium on September 18 for the opening day of a two-day festival.

1,800 fans registered in advance. Family members picking them up pushed the total past 2,000. From Seoul and Gyeonggi alone, 21 or more official fan buses arrived. The day featured morning sports competitions split into Part 1 and Part 2, with a surprise appearance by Hwang Young-woong. September 19 is reserved for fans from outside Seoul and Gyeonggi, though remaining seats will open to Seoul and Gyeonggi members as well.

New single momentum

사랑한다면 (Love If You Do) dropped recently and its music video crossed 3 million combined YouTube views faster than any previous release by Hwang Young-woong. Fans have called it "the pinnacle of Hwang Young-woong's emotional ballad style."

Charity record running parallel

Paradise has made community work a regular practice. The Gyeongnam regional chapter, led by director Park Mi-young, donated 10,770,000 won to the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam branch to help Geoje City residents affected by recent heavy rain. "I hope this becomes a small comfort and help to those going through difficult times due to flooding," Park said.

The fan club also donated 5,000,000 won in scholarships and goods to the Single Parent Family Love Association for Chuseok. Over three years, Paradise has run free mobile meal services in the Yangsan area, given to wildfire-affected regions, and provided blankets to flood disaster victims. Hwang Young-woong himself has donated over 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross and continues giving through the 선한스타 (Good Star) campaign.
