Jaeha brings 'Baboya' to Cultwo Show

Jaeha showed up on SBS Power FM's 두시탈출 컬투쇼 on September 25 to perform his self-composed single Baboya live. The song had dropped ten days earlier.

Host Kim Tae-gyun opened with the setup: "the son of 'Lipstick Deeply Applied' singer Im Ju-ri, and a trot singer who wants to become his mother's retirement pension." That last part wasn't just a joke. Jaeha said it himself—that's why he picked the genre.

The vibe felt right to him. "It's like visiting a big house on Chuseok," he told the show, leaning into the holiday atmosphere. He also brought up a past duet, 그대 내 친구여, which he'd performed on the competition program 인생은 오디션. "I was so nervous I kept touching my in-ear monitor," he admitted.

Dance, facial expressions, and a mentor's disclaimer

Kim Tae-gyun watched the Baboya stage and said: "Your dance line is unique." Jaeha's response was to tell listeners where to focus. "Watch my facial acting," he said. "Pay close attention to it."

That emphasis makes sense once you hear what happened next. Jaeha learned dance from Kim Jung-yeon during a past competition broadcast. Kim Jung-yeon was on the show too, and she wasn't having it. "You dance cutely but think you're an idol," she said, then added flatly: "Don't say you learned dance from me."

When Jaeha floated the idea of getting choreography lessons from her before a TOP5 concert, Kim Tae-gyun cut in: "Don't learn—just do it like you do now."

Jaeha left with a promise: "If you call me next time, I will come. Then I will show you different dances."

(The retirement-pension thing is doing a lot of heavy lifting for a guy whose mom is Im Ju-ri.)
