Park Ji-hoon chases triple crown at 35th Buil Film Awards; Kim Nam-gil and Cheon Woo-hee return as MCs

Park Ji-hoon's three-way nomination bid

Park Ji-hoon is nominated for Best Actor, Best New Male Actor, and Star of the Year at the 35th Buil Film Awards. All three nods stem from his work in 왕과 사는 남자 (Living with the King), directed by Jang Hang-jun. The film pulled in six nominations total.

The ceremony unfolds October 7 at 4:30 PM at Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Red carpet coverage flows into backstage interviews, the main awards, and an open talk with the Star of the Year winner. The full event streams live on Naver Zezic.

The nomination field

Park Chan-wook's 어쩔수가없다 (No Way Out) leads with nine nominations. Best Picture, Best Director, and both lead acting categories are all in play. Na Hong-jin's 호프 (Hope) has eight. Yoon Ga-eun's 세계의 주인 (Master of the World) and Jang Hang-jun's 왕과 사는 남자 each sit at six.

Some familiar names are back in the mix. Lee Byung-hun won Best Actor last year for 승부 (Showdown) and is nominated again in the same category for 어쩌수가없다. Cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo took the Cinematography award at the 34th edition for 하얼빈 (Harbin) and is nominated once more for 호프. Yom Hye-ran appears in two acting categories: Best Actress for 내 이름은 (My Name Is) and Best Supporting Actress for 어쩔수가없다.

MCs returning for year two

Kim Nam-gil and Cheon Woo-hee are back as hosts for the second year in a row. They co-hosted the 34th Buil Film Awards and first worked together in the 2017 film 어느날. The Buil Film Awards, founded in 1958, reaches its 35th edition this year.
