Citrus Pie Worth the Detour: Yongdap Market's Dessert Café

Mina Park·6/13/2026, 6:30:27 PM

Seongdong-gu doesn't get nearly enough credit as a food district, but the stretch around Yongdap Nadeul Market is quietly stacking up reasons to visit. The spot drawing the most attention right now is a dessert café near the market that's become a go-to for locals — and the signature item is a citrus pie that's been pulling people in from across the city.

The pie itself is the whole point. A crisp, shatteringly flaky pastry shell holds a bright, tangy lemon filling — the contrast between the buttery crunch of the crust and the sharp citrus inside is what makes it work. It's not a heavy dessert; it's the kind of thing you finish and immediately want another slice of. The café has been a neighborhood fixture for a while, but it's currently seeing a surge of visitors discovering it for the first time.

Yongdap Nadeul Market itself is worth a slow walk before or after. The area around it has a mix of market-stall eating — bibim-myeon (spicy mixed noodles) and perilla seed tang (들깨탕, a nutty, earthy soup) are among the other dishes the market stretch is known for. If you're building a half-day food itinerary in Seongdong-gu, this neighborhood pairs well with a Seongsu stop — they're in the same district, and the contrast between the polished café scene in Seongsu and the more local, market-energy of Yongdap is genuinely interesting.

The café sits near Yongdap Nadeul Market in Yongdap-dong, Seongdong-gu. The nearest subway access is Yongdap Station on Line 5. It's the kind of place that fills up on weekends, so a weekday visit or an early arrival is the move if you want to skip a wait. The citrus pie is the order — don't overthink it.
