An Hee-yeon (EXID Hani) returns to drama after 3 years, apologizes for wedding postponement concern

An Hee-yeon — known to fans as EXID's Hani — stepped in front of cameras for the first time since her wedding was put on hold. She attended the production presentation for KBS 2TV weekend drama Love Is Coming (사랑이 온다) on July 22 at The Saint in D Cube City, Guro-gu, Seoul.

She had announced plans to marry psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong in 2024. A patient death at the hospital he operates led to the wedding being indefinitely postponed. Asked about the situation at the press event, she said: "I am sorry for causing concern to many people due to personal matters." She declined to go into specifics, asking for understanding and noting that so many people were pouring their hearts into the production that she did not want her personal situation to weigh on their work. "That is also my responsibility to bear, and I am trying to stay strong," she added.

In the drama, she plays Han Gyurim, a lively employee at a market side dish shop. To prepare, she learned cooking and sought out various experiences to better understand the character. Love Is Coming — directed by Hong Seok-gu and written by Lee Kyung-ui — centers on two people gathering the fragments of a broken family to set the warmest table of their lives. The cast also includes Ha Seok-jin, Park Yu-na, Bae Jeong-nam, Kwon Hae-hyo, Yoon Yu-seon, Ryu Seung-soo, and Jin Kyung.

This is An Hee-yeon's first KBS weekend drama. Love Is Coming premieres July 25 at 7:55 PM.
