BIG Naughty drops EP 'Hopeful Romantic' July 29, featuring Jay Park, Dynamic Duo

BIG Naughty (서동현) releases 호프풀 로맨틱 (Hopeful Romantic) on July 29 through online music platforms. His first new project in five months comes after February's 코발트와 네이비 그 사이.

The 10-track EP frames itself as a follow-up to his 2023 release 호프리스 로맨틱 (Hopeless Romantic), though BIG Naughty describes it as offering a different lens on the world. Five artists appear across the tracklist: Ha-ga (하가), Jay Park (박재범), Gist (지스트), Dynamic Duo (다이나믹 듀오), and Loco (로꼬).

Title track 꽃 (Feat. 하가) is a campus rock song built on the 1980s Korean university song festival sound—bright, nostalgic band arrangements that use the four seasons as metaphor for meeting, parting, and the hope to meet again. Pre-release single 이 노래는 이름이 J로 시작하는 너에게 (Feat. 박재범) and 10시 반 크리스피 앞 (Feat. 다이나믹 듀오) land on the EP too, along with Lovey Dovey (Solo Ver.).

One track stands apart. Untitled (바라봐줘) exists only on the physical CD—a thank-you message to fans. (Physical pre-orders close August 3.)

BIG Naughty debuted in 2019 with 시발점 Remix after appearing on Mnet's Show Me The Money Season 8 that year. He recently sold out his first solo concert.
