Hwang rose to prominence on MBN trot survival show 불타는 트롯맨 in 2023, finishing first in the opening round of the finals before withdrawing ahead of the live second round following personal controversies. Since stepping away from broadcast, he has built his fanbase through nationwide solo concert tours, fan meetings, and regular gatherings.
