Jung Sun-hee explains why she let Hong Jin-kyung announce her divorce on her channel

Jung Sun-hee opened up about one of the more unusual moments on her YouTube channel during MBC's Radio Star episode 971, which aired July 8.

Hong Jin-kyung had asked her to host the divorce announcement on Jung's channel rather than her own. Jung's first reaction was blunt: "You have your own channel. Do it there. Why are you doing this to me?" She eventually agreed. The hesitation came from the scale of the story and the potential media firestorm that would follow—she worried partly about what Hong Jin-kyung herself would face.

The video crossed 1 million views. That's significant for a channel sitting at 70,000 subscribers.

Hong Jin-kyung married a businessman in 2003 after five years of dating and has a daughter. She announced her divorce last August, ending a 22-year marriage.

Jung Sun-hee's own relationship history came up too. She married the late Ahn Jae-hwan in 2007 and was widowed in 2008, then returned to broadcasting in 2012. On the show she confirmed she has remarried multiple times since—"involuntarily, 3 times"—and said she is now "looking for someone who will have a long life" with her. She also made a promise to Hong Jin-kyung: if she remarries, she will go to Hong's channel to announce it. "Divorce came," she said, "so remarriage must follow."
