Wild Things Hits Netflix: Kang Dong-won, Park Ji-hyun, Eom Tae-gu Comedy Arrives on Streaming

Wild Things arrived on Netflix July 31, bringing the comedy to streaming audiences weeks after its June 3 theater run.

Directed by Son Jae-gon, the film follows Triangle (트라이앵글), a fictional three-member co-ed dance group that once dominated the charts before an unexpected incident broke them apart overnight. Two decades later, the three members attempt a comeback. Kang Dong-won plays Hyun-woo, the group's leader. Park Ji-hyun is Do-mi, now married into a chaebol family. Eom Tae-gu plays Sang-gu, drowning in debt from a failed solo album. Oh Jung-se appears as Sung-gon, Triangle's rival ballad prince, and Shin Ha-gyun plays Park Dae-pyo, their former agency head.

Within the film's universe, Triangle debuted June 3, 2002, under Yong-gu Records. The songs exist beyond the screen: Triangle's Love is and Shout it out, plus Sung-gon's 니가 좋아, were released as actual tracks.

The production budget was 8 billion won, with a break-even point set at 2 million viewers. As of the latest count from the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, cumulative attendance stands at 1,345,426—still short of that target. Netflix availability could reshape how people talk about the film's reach, but box office numbers are box office numbers.

Audience scores landed solid: 8.44 out of 10 on Naver and 93% on the CGV Egg index. The film runs 107 minutes, is rated 12 and older, and has no post-credits scene.
