Dun drops first single in 3 years, "Too Much," and opens up about chasing numbers over music

Dun released Too Much on August 7, breaking a three-year silence since his 2023 EP Narcissus.

The gap wasn't accidental. "Over the past 3 years I thought a lot about what kind of music I should make," he said in a statement. He went deeper: "At some point I discovered that I was looking at numbers and results before the music itself — how I would appear, how people would view me, how many streams I would get."

That confession shapes the whole project. Dun wants to "accept my empty self and my still-imperfect self as they are and honestly share that process." A reset, both mentally and creatively.

He debuted in 2016 as Lee Dun (이던) in Pentagon before leaving in 2018 and rebranding as Dun. He cycled through Pnation and At Area. Now he's unaffiliated, releasing Too Much on his own.

"Even if the stories I share don't resonate with everyone, if they can reach even one person with a similar heart, that would be enough," he said. He's "moving forward one step at a time without knowing where my destination is" and wants fans to come along.
