ILLIT drops Korean version of 'I Got Your Back' feat. HANA's JISOO and MOMOKA
ILLIT's rock track, originally the title cut of their second Japanese single, hit #2 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 before arriving in Korean on August 17.
ILLIT released I Got Your Back (Feat. JISOO, MOMOKA of HANA) (Korean Ver.) on August 17 at midnight. The original Japanese version—title track of their second Japanese single from July—had already peaked at #2 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and served as the OST for ABEMA's original drama 바캉스의 법칙 (Vacation Rules).
Guitar riffs, dynamic drums, and bass anchor the Korean version. JISOO and MOMOKA of J-pop girl group HANA return as featured artists on the rap sections, just as they did on the original. Both contributed to writing those parts for the Korean-language recording.
ILLIT said the song "contains our honest thoughts and feelings." They "paid attention to conveying sincerity well." On the language switch: "Even though it's the same song, singing it in Korean had a different charm."
The release drops mid-tour. ILLIT's PRESS START♥︎ run covers Seoul and five Japanese cities, wrapping with two Hong Kong dates at AsiaWorld Expo Hall 10 on August 22 and 23. Every show has sold out. Encore dates are locked in for Incheon in October and Chiba, Japan in December.
