ILLIT drops fifth mini album 'BREAK EVEN' six months after 'MAMIHLAPINATAPAI'
ILLIT's fifth mini album 'BREAK EVEN' arrives October 26. A showcase at Blue Square Seoul follows the same day, with music show promotions starting October 30 on KBS 2TV.

ILLIT's fifth mini album lands six months after the fourth
ILLIT dropped BREAK EVEN on October 26 — their fifth mini album, arriving six months after April's MAMIHLAPINATAPAI. The five-member group (Yoon-ah, Minzu, Moka, Wonhee, Iroha) held a media showcase at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul that same afternoon.
The concept tells a one-sided love story. ILLIT chased someone they liked. The feelings were never returned. Now they're walking away from a losing relationship. The title track compares that emotional imbalance to a financial break-even point.
Title track built on a black-agent concept
체포하겠어 is an electro-pop song built on whistle sounds, sharp synths, and vocal effects. It warns someone whose habitual kindness got mistaken for affection. ILLIT cuts the relationship off directly rather than getting pulled back by old feelings.
The group actually debuted the track live on October 17, the first night of their encore tour — before the album dropped. Yoon-ah spoke about it at the showcase: "We were really happy and surprised by the hot interest after performing '체포하겠어' for the first time during our encore tour, and I think any interest in the stage is something to be grateful for."
On what comes next, she added: "The stage is based on a black agent concept, and we plan to show various styling in the remaining stages, so we ask for your continued interest and love."
Track list and Bang Si-hyuk's involvement
BREAK EVEN includes four tracks beyond the title.
슈퍼 인 러브 (Super in Love) has ILLIT learning through a friend's blunt words that the crush was one-sided all along.
모어 (More) captures embarrassment that curdles into irritation.
팝 (Pop) follows falling for someone new and reframing the failed past relationship as a step toward a perfect ending.
HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk contributed to the album's songwriting. Member Minzu noted the group never met him in person during production because they were overseas so often. But word got back: "He said this album recording went exceptionally well. We also prepared with confidence after hearing that."
ILLIT begin music show promotions October 30 on KBS 2TV Music Bank.
