Seulgi's August 7 YouTube vlog from the 'Velvet Summer' MV shoot shows her rejecting a stylist's crop-top idea over wardrobe malfunction fears.

Red Velvet dropped their summer mini album Velvet Summer on August 3. Seulgi wasted no time giving fans a behind-the-scenes look.
August 7 brought a comeback vlog to her YouTube channel: "이렇게만 하면 너도 슬기 될 수 있어. 레드벨벳 컴백 브이로그" — roughly, "Do this and you can be Seulgi too." The video follows her through the MV costume fitting. First came a Little Mermaid-inspired look. Then a sequined bodysuit.
Then the costume manager suggested something. Cut the top into a separate crop top. Seulgi shut it down fast: "That really won't work." The reason was straightforward — "The fabric doesn't have enough structure and could slip up" — she wasn't risking a wardrobe malfunction on camera. (Respect the self-awareness.)
The stylist tried again. What if she just wore the bodysuit alone? That didn't happen either. A caption in the video explains it: "During fittings, we share various ideas." Framing the back-and-forth as routine. Normal. How stage looks actually get built.
This vlog shows something rare: how much negotiation happens before a single outfit ever reaches a stage or set.
