RESCENE's Minami reunites with (G)I-DLE's Jeon So-yeon, tears up over 'After School Excitement' memories
Minami broke down reuniting with her former mentor Jeon So-yeon during RESCENE's 'Pretty Girl' challenge behind-the-scenes video, a moment captured from their first meeting 9 years ago.
RESCENE member Minami cried when she saw Jeon So-yeon again during filming for the Pretty Girl challenge behind-the-scenes video, posted to RESCENE's official YouTube channel on the 5th.
The clip, titled '챌린지 열차 출발 | RESCENE (리센느) 'Pretty Girl' 챌린지 Behind,' ties to the group's remake single Pretty Girl, released on the 7th of last month. Both women had appeared on MBC survival program After School Excitement when Minami was 15 and a middle schooler. That's where they first met.
Minami handed Jeon So-yeon a handwritten letter and a photo card she made herself. "I wrote a letter and prepared a photo card. Please remember me," she said. Her voice wavered: "I should have greeted you sooner, but I'm greeting you now."
Jeon So-yeon embraced the moment. "I still haven't forgotten your 'HAVANA' stage," she told Minami. "It's nice to meet again like this and congratulate you, and thank you for doing well." She reflected on Minami's path. "You went abroad at such a young age and had a hard time, and you'll do even better in the future." RESCENE's members gave Jeon So-yeon a signed album.
The challenge video pulled in a roster of names. RESCENE filmed the Pretty Girl challenge with Je-a, Daesung, Park Jin-young, SEVENTEEN's Dino and Vernon. The behind video also shows challenges with RIIZE's Shotaro, Choi Yu-jung, BABYMONSTER's Asa and Chiquita, Classi members (who appeared on After School Excitement alongside Minami), AIDITH, Ji Seok-jin, Ji Ye-eun, TOMORROW X TOGETHER's Yeonjun, Sunmi, Beyeon, Lee Min-hyuk, and TOURS's Young-jae. (G)I-DLE's Minni and RESCENE's Won also filmed a Gimme Dat Love challenge with Minami and Jeon So-yeon.
