SEVENTEEN's Dino debuts solo mini-album '吉BOARD' as alter ego Pi Cheol-in, hits #1 on daily chart

SEVENTEEN's Dino dropped his first solo mini-album 吉BOARD (길보드) on August 3 under the alter-ego name Pi Cheol-in. The numbers came fast.

The album hit #1 on the daily chart on release day. It entered iTunes 'Top Albums' in 16 countries and regions including Japan, Singapore, and the United States, and landed at #2 on QQ Music's 'Digital Bestseller Album' EP daily chart in China. Title track 놀아보세 (prod. Hitchhiker) peaked at #2 on Bugs' real-time chart, entered Melon's 'Hot 100' at #7, and charted on iTunes 'Top Songs' in 12 countries — #1 in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Peru.

The album spans EDM trap, city pop, and new jack swing filtered through what Dino describes as a Korean sense of heung (흥), a kind of joyful, spirited energy. 짠 (feat. DINO) and 정말 (prod. 이현도 of DEUX) charted across the board alongside the title track. Pre-release 아프지 않은 이별은 없다 (narr. 이문세) drew attention for its city pop sound and radio drama-like emotional narrative.

The MV for pre-release track 미쳐 미쳐 dropped July 22 and ranked #8 on Korea's YouTube 'Weekly Popular Music Video' chart for the July 24–30 period.

Dino previewed the new material on KBS 1TV's 전국노래자랑 (National Song Contest) — an unusual move for an idol act. "I wanted to challenge a concept I had never attempted before," he said. "I wanted to show a fresh side that only I can express."

On the album's intent: "I tried to express various emotions of life with heung and spirit beyond simple joy."

Music show appearances begin August 6 with Mnet M Countdown. The 2026 DINO×피철인 [吉BOARD SHOW] concert runs August 21–23 at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul's Songpa-gu. All seats sold out through FC membership pre-order alone.
