SEVENTEEN's HOT crossed 300 million Spotify streams on August 18, 2026, logging 320,020,304 cumulative plays. It's the group's second song to clear that mark, after Monkey King (손오공).
The track dropped in 2022 as the title for SEVENTEEN's fourth studio album Face the Sun. Hip-hop built on intense Western guitar, HOT spins lyrics about facing a blazing sun with courage and ultimately becoming that sun. Woozi and producer BUMZU co-wrote and composed it. At release, the song topped real-time charts on Japan's LINE MUSIC and AWA Music, and placed in the upper tier of domestic charts including Melon and Bugs.
Face the Sun sold over 2.06 million copies in its first week and reached No. 7 on the US Billboard 200. The 13-member group under Pledis Entertainment debuted on May 26, 2015. Last month all members signed their second contract renewal.
The milestone lands during a busy stretch for the group's individual members. Unit V8 — DK and Vernon — recently wrapped activities. Vernon dropped a new solo single, I'll Be Back, on August 20. Dino, the group's youngest member, holds a solo concert at Seoul Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium from August 21 to 23. (CARATs have a lot on the calendar right now.)
